We would like to introduce you to VoodooShield, we think you will find our work extremely interesting. We realized a while back that traditional antivirus can no longer keep up with the thousands of new threats each day, and that a new approach was needed.

We realized that the only way to actually stop all viruses was create essentially a computer lock. It would block EVERYTHING except for the software you use. Basically, instead of updating and maintaining a huge black list, we would just create a much smaller and efficient white list, and block everything that is not on the white list. VoodooShield does not require daily updates or scans, but does auto update every few months or so to add new features and to further refine the User Interface. The white list is automatically created through our proprietary, patent-pending snapshot method.

We knew if we were going to lock up the user’s computer, we had to make it easy to use, so design of the User Interface was critical. So basically, the user trains VoodooShield what software to allow, and it blocks everything else. Training is effortless, the user simply starts the programs they normally use when VoodooShield is in Training Mode. Once the computer is trained, the user can then switch to Smart Mode or Always On mode, and it will then block all viruses and malware. Simple, huh?

We also did not want to prompt the user for an affirmative response, as we believe this is a larger security hole than all others combined. That is, if a new process attempts run that is not on the white list, VoodooShield will block it, no questions asked. This solves the problem of the user accidentally clicking “Yes” to a prompt, especially if they are in a hurry, or have not had a great deal of experience with computers.

VoodooShield is an Overland Park, KS start up that recently launched by three software developers, along with business advisors and legal professionals. VoodooShield has been in development now for just under a year. We recently completed a public beta test which helped us to debug our software and to make it as user friendly as possible. VoodooShield has been successfully tested against thousands of viruses. During the beta test, we received many overwhelmingly positive comments on VoodooShield.
